Do I need a credit card for renting a car?

 

Yes, it is necessary to have a credit card or a debit card validated as a credit card, in order to book the deposit. The suitable cards are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Visa Electron. In some instances, we accept also guarantee letters and bank transfers.

 

Is it possible to leave the deposit in cash?

 

No, unfortunately cash does not suit as a deposit.

 

How big is the deposit?

 

The amount of the deposit depends on the car, the length of the rental period and the customer. The deposit is usually 350–400 € for standard cars and up to 750 € for executive cars. In case of Porsche Panamera the deposit is usually 1500-2000 €. A deposit larger than the usual might be necessary in some instances.

 

Why is the deposit needed?

 

The deposit is usually as big as the personal liability for collision damage waiver. The deposit provides the lessee as well as the rental company with a certainty that in case of an accident at least the personal liability sum of the insurance will be covered.

 

How can I pay for the rental?

 

It is possible to pay for the rental immediately before the rental period commences, in cash, by debit and credit card or on the basis of an invoice by bank transfer. Since we are using mobile card payment terminals, it is possible to use the bank card payment option anywhere with GSM mobile reception.

 

Are the insurances included in the rental fee?

 

The rental prices include the compulsory traffic insurance (motor third party liability insurance), collision damage waiver (personal liability is 350 – 750 €) and theft protection (personal liability is 1200 - 4500 €). In case of Porsche Panamera the excess of CDW insurance is 3000 € and excess of TP insurance is 9000 €.

 

Is it possible to decrease the personal liability for the insurance?

 

Yes, it is possible to decrease the personal liability of collision damage waiver (CDW) to 0 € via paying an additional fee. The additional fees are as following:

 

  • Passenger cars: additional fee of 17 € / per day, but not less than 34 €
  • SUV / minivan: additional fee of 20 € / per day, but not less than 40 €
  • Mercedes-Benz: additional fee of 25 € / per day, but not less than 75 €
  • Porsche: additional fee of 50 € / per day, but not less than 150 €

 

Unfortunately it is not possible to decrease the personal liability of theft insurance.

 

What is the weekend package?

 

The weekend package is a cheap option for renting the car from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. The cheaper price will be valid for the package on the following conditions: the car rental begins on Friday at 15.00–17.00 o’clock and ends Monday at 9.00–10.00 o’clock. The package includes a mileage up to 660 km (in case of Porsche Panamera 360 km). Additional charge for every exceeded km will be added. However, it is possible to choose unlimited mileage as an option.

 

How are the rental periods calculated?

 

One day is a 24 hour period, one week is a 7 day period and one month is a 30 day period.

 

How old do I have to be in order to rent a car?

 

The drivers listed in the contract must be at least 21 years old and must have at least 2 years’ driving experience. In certain instances, younger drivers and/or drivers with less driving experience will be able to rent cars from a cheaper price range for an additional charge.

 

Which documents do I need to present in order to rent a car?

 

It is necessary to present a valid driver’s licence, an identity document (i.e. an identity card or passport) and a valid credit card or debit card validated as a credit card* when renting a car. In case the driver's license is issued outside of European Union (EU) countries, International Driving Permit (IDP) together with driver's license may be required.

 

In which cases International Driving Permit (IDP) is required?

 

If your driver's license is issued in one of the following countries, an IDP is always required together with your driver's license: United States of America (USA), Argentina, Australia, Egypt, Ecuador, India, Japan, Canada, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey. Please note, that the countries listed are just for sample purposes and it is not the full list of countries requiring IDP.

 

How can I make a booking?

 

When booking a car select on the opening page or the car rental page the desired dates and the cars available during that period will be offered to you. Next, choose the suitable car, click on the booking button and fill in the booking form. You will receive according respective email upon confirming the booking. Do I need to make an advance payment when booking a car?

 

Yes, usually a prepayment of at least 10% of the estimated rental fee, but not less than one rental day fee is required to confirm your booking. The advance payment is not refundable if the booking is cancelled.

 

How do I cancel a booking?

 

In order to cancel a booking, please send an email to rent@apluss.ee or call at +372 5681 0800.

 

Is it possible to return the car before the agreed time?

 

Yes, it is possible to return the car before the agreed time. In order to do so, contact us at our information number +372 5681 0800. The part of the rental fee paid in advance shall not be returned, unless agreed upon differently. If it is agreed that the sum will be returned, the rental fees shall be recalculated according to the actual rental period (without discounts); 10% of the initial rental fee will be added to the sum as an administration fee. The minimal payment is one day’s rental fee.

 

How can I make price inquiries?

 

By selecting the suitable dates on the opening page or the car rental page, the estimated rental costs will be calculated immediately. If you would like to make a price inquiry, it is possible to do so using the price inquiry form.

 

Is mileage limited?

 

Yes, the rental prices set in the price list are with a limited mileage. Mileage limits are as following:

 

  • Passenger cars: mileage limit 300 km / per day, but not more than 3000 km per rental period or per month (30 days)
  • Minivans: mileage limit 400 km / per day, but not more than 4000 km per rental period or per month (30 days)
  • Porsche Panamera: mileage limit 150 km / per day, but not more than 2000 km per rental period or per month (30 days)

 

Upon request, it is possible to conclude a contract with unlimited mileage. Unlimited mileage will add only 10% to your rental charges.

 

How much do I need to pay in addition if I exceed the mileage?

 

Upon exceeding the allowed mileage, each kilometre shall cost 0,12 € / km. In case of Porsche Panamera the extra charge is 1 € / km.

 

Is it possible to add additional drivers to the rental contract?

 

Yes, it is possible to add up to two additional drivers to the rental contract for an additional fee. The cost of one additional driver is 10 € regardless of the rental period.

 

Is it possible to have the car delivered to / leave it at the airport, port, hotel or some other location?

 

Yes, for an additional fee, we will transport the car to a location suitable to you — airport, port, hotel or elsewhere. Simply choose the suitable delivery or return location when making the booking or note it in the additional information section. If the car is delivered to you outside our office, we normally ask for your document details in advance — it makes transferring the car on site easier and quicker.

 

Is it possible to rent a car for only one way route?

 

Yes, for an additional fee we offer one-way rental both within Estonia and to the neighbouring countries. If the destination that interests you is missing in the price list, ask for an offer here.

 

Is it allowed to drive the car outside of Estonian borders?

 

It is only permitted to drive the car outside of Estonian borders upon the rental company’s written agreement — the respective note will be made on the rental contract before the rental period begins.

 

Is it possible to rent a GPS or child safety chair in addition to the car?

 

Yes, our additional equipment has been listed here. As there is a limited number of accessories, we recommend that you book accessories along with the car.

 

Is it allowed to drive the car in an off-road area?

 

No, it is forbidden to drive our rental cars on unpaved roads or roads that are in a condition or with a surface that might cause harm to the car’s rims, tyres, body mechanisms and/or details. Our rental conditions have been brought out here.

 

Is it allowed to smoke in the car?

 

No, it is forbidden to smoke in our rental cars. Contractual penalty for violating this condition is 200 €. Our rental conditions have been brought out here.

 

What should I do if the car gets into a traffic accident?

 

If the situation requires, contact the rescue service and/or the police at 112. It is always necessary to contact also us at our information number +372 5681 0800 so that we could evaluate the situation and provide you with further instructions. Generally, you will need to formalise the traffic accident on spot, fill in the respective form, get the other party’s contact details (if the other party can be established) and the respective signatures.

 

What should I do in case there is a technical failure with the car?

 

Our rental cars have 24 hour roadside assistance. Contact us at our information number +372 5681 0800 so that we could evaluate the situation and provide you with further instructions. The car assistance service has been included in the rental price.
